Episode 48: Teton Crest Trail

Thursday Jan 15, 2026

Thursday Jan 15, 2026

We’re finishing the stories from Episode 42 and wrapping up our Wyoming adventures with the Grand Teton moments that made it unforgettable— first-time backpacking lessons and nonstop awe from the Teton Crest Trail’s big mountain passes. We share wildlife encounters with eagles, marmots, foxes, and mule deer, bear-safety nerves, coyotes howling at night, flapping tents, chilly evenings warmed by hot meals, and late-night views of climbers summiting the Grand Teton. The trip’s toughest climbs and Paintbrush Pass tested our limits, a sudden storm brought hail, lightning, and a frantic push across a remnant glacier, and the reward came in lakefront camps, String Lake soaks, and stunning views—proof that the hardest moments make the best stories.

It was a jam-packed Philadelphia Marathon weekend filled with family moments, PRs, perfect weather, and plenty of Mile 20 beverages. Laura had an emotional, family-focused return to the course, while Maggie and Lorri kicked things off with multiple PRs in the 8K on Saturday. The crew fueled up on Italian food and soaked in the electric hometown race energy as the city showed up in full force. Lorri and Laura kept the tradition alive with a few “Mile 20 beverages,” Maggie snagged another PR and officially joined the Marathon Maniacs after completing three marathons in under 90 days, and the entire weekend felt like one big celebration. Already counting down to 2026!
