In this episode, we’re throwing it back to the 2021 Rock ‘n’ Roll Nashville Marathon — the last race in our crazy stretch of 7 marathons in 12 weeks. We recap a full Nashville race weekend that included flying in, exploring the city, hitting spots like the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, Broadway, and 12 South, and running a hilly course that’s changed a bit since then but still hits all the best parts of Music City. From the expo at Nissan Stadium to post-race food stops and a surprisingly tiny medal, it was a classic marathon weekend. The race itself was memorable, but honestly what really happened is we recorded this episode later and couldn’t stop laughing the entire time reliving it all — so expect more chaos on this one.

Two marathons. Two days. Questionable life choices. The Des Moines marathon was quite the experience - from a stunning sunrise start by the capitol to looping Drake Stadium like champions (or survivors), this race had everything: bacon on a string, Fireball in Water Works Park, an orchestra still playing 5+ hours in… and yes, even garbage trucks mid-course. We pushed the 7-hour limit, fueled mostly by grit, KT tape, and Chipotle (again questionable life choice), and somehow made it to that sweet finish line. Was it pretty? Not always. Was it memorable? Absolutely.
