Fast, flat, and full of charm—Fargo lives up to its “Best Small Town Race” reputation. Since its 2021 fall run, the course has evolved with more out-and-backs but still crosses into Minnesota and celebrates its Scandinavian roots. With multiple race options, a 7-hour limit, and a growing field, it’s a welcoming, quirky race weekend. Go to Fargo for the miles, stay for Viking lore, local eats, and a surprisingly fun post-run scene in town!

Jackson, this episode shares real trail stories, navigation challenges, zero-visibility hiking, nutrition lessons, and hard-earned planning tips for one of the most challenging hikes in the Northeast. Episode 51: Manchester Miles

Thursday Feb 05, 2026

Thursday Feb 05, 2026

We’re revisiting the Manchester City Marathon and reflecting on what makes this small, well-organized destination race unique. We rewind to our original run in 2020 during an unseasonably warm, pandemic-era race complete with face coverings at the start, a smart staggered send-off, a brewery stop, pizza in a brick warehouse district, and the unforgettable moment we were briefly the last runners on the course—with a police escort to prove it. We also touch on travel, finish-line hotels, course growth over the years, and why this race didn’t wow or disappoint… it just quietly did its job.
